Silica sol investment casting
The Silica Sol investment casting process is used to cast complex high-quality parts with requirements of a very good surface finish and close dimensional tolerances. This process can range from a weight of just a few ounces to approximately 80 pounds. If you are concerned with precision in very small parts, we are especially proficient at very fine detail work including teeth and serrations. Silica sol wax is middle temperature, water glass wax is low tempearture. The major difference betwen the two investment casting process are in the surface roughness and cost of production. Compared with water glass investment casting, the silica sol casting method can be used to cast the complex-shape casting parts which offer design flexibility. And the componnets cast using silica sol typically have smooth and flawless surface finishes, reducing the need for additional post-proecssing.
