What’s pump back liner?

The slurry pump back liner is the inner lining of the slurry pump back casing, which a crucial pump wet components where the shaft passes through. The pump back liner is typically made of high chromium cast irons, carbon steel and stainless steel with rubber, polyurethane or special wear-resistant coatings.

Material for frame plate liner inserts:

High Chromium steel is a special steel with more than 11% chromium, making it resistant to rust and increase the steel’s corrosion resistance.

High chromium alloy A05, also know as high Chrome 27% or KmTBCr27, is a white iron alloy that’s commonly used in slurry pump castings.

High chromium steel A07 is more wear-resistant than A05, and its chromium content is a little higher than A05.

Some customer will choose the pump back covers that used carbon steel coated with polymer, such as natural rubber R55, or polyurethane.

The most common stainless steel alloy is austenitic stainless steel, particularly Grade 304 and Grade 316, which is a mixture primarily composed of Cr and Ni, offering good corrosion resistance and excellent formability, making them widely used in various applications.

1	Patterns Makings	Creating a wax mold of the desired stainless steel pump impellers, and then adding sprues to the wax model to create a tree-like structure.
2	Shell Building	Coating the wax pattern with a layer of fire-resistant paint, and then to be sprinkled with sand, so after a period of hardening, the surface will form a layer of fire-resistant thin shell.
3	Dewaxing	Removing the wax, the shell is placed into an oven, melting the wax so that it can run out of the shell.
4	Pouring	Pouring the molten stainless steel into the shell, and waiting for solidification under room temperature.
5	Post treatment	After cooling, knock the shell and cut the sprue gate by grinding machinery to achieve net shape impeller castings. Then shot blasting to move mill scales to assure the smooth casting surface.
