Description

Turbine housing is the most crucial parts which collect exhaust gasses from an engine and directs it through a volute which drives the shaft wheel assembly of a turbo causing it to spin. Turbine casings are also referred to as the “hot side” of the turbo because of its continuous exposure to hot exhaust gas. Turbine housings are manufactured from very abrasive, heat-resistant materials such as high silicon ductile iron, Ni-resist cast iron, and heat-resistant cast steels.

Ductile cast iron: Can withstand temperatures up to 700 degrees. Ductile cast iron is a common cast iron for turbine housing of diesel engine, truck turbocharger and engineering equipment turbo charger. Baoding Guokun can produce various turbine housings in cast ductile iron, ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 or QT450-12 by using shell mold casting or sand casting process.

Austenitic Stainless steel: Can withstand temperatures above 1050 degrees.

Stainless steel: Can reduce weight and retain exhaust heat.
